Plot summary
Detectives Rikki Moore and Cade Hamilton are working the case of an heirloom engagement ring that has come down through a family and now passes from one bride-to-be to the next, handed along by young women eager for the wedding it promises. Every woman who wears it dies a brutal death, and the ring moves on to a new hand. The man the detectives are hunting is chasing the same ring and stays one step behind it, leaving a trail of bodies as he closes on whoever is wearing it at the time. He keeps just out of their reach each time it changes hands.
