Plot summary
In 2509, Earth has lost contact with the USG Ishimura and with Isaac Clarke. It then loses contact with the USG O'Bannon, which had been sent to Aegis VII to learn the fate of its colony. There the crew finds a fragment of the Marker, and an outbreak of reanimated mutated corpses, the Necromorphs, follows. EarthGov recovers four survivors and brings them to its base at Titan Sprawl: the security officer Nicholas Kuttner, the engineer Alejandro Borgas, the chief science officer Nolan Stross and the chief medical officer Isabella Cho. Did you know?!Facts and trivia about Dead Space: Aftermath (2011)
Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- Film Roman built Dead Space: Aftermath's prequel story on Akira Kurosawa's Rashomon, showing the same event from multiple perspectives. To reflect the different narrative timelines, different animation styles were used, with multiple South Korean animation studios each heading a flashback sequence.
- The present-day sections of Aftermath used 3D CGI while its flashbacks used different 2D animation techniques, and director Mike Disa kept characters recognisable by giving each key traits such as outfits and skin and hair color that carried over from sequence to sequence.
