Plot summary
Escaped convicts seize a school bus carrying deaf children after a car accident draws police attention, then take the students and their teacher, Melanie Charrol, to an abandoned slaughterhouse. FBI Special Agent John Potter leads the negotiations, an assignment that follows a previous operation which ended in partial failure and left his reputation damaged by a Congressional hearing. Ted Handy leads the three men, and background checks show one of them took part in a robbery from which more than two million dollars was never recovered. Potter also has to keep local law enforcement from forcing a confrontation at the building.
