Plot summary
At Elwyn Clayton's funeral, a local woman named Kate accuses the dead man of evil. His twin brother, the physician Dr. Lloyd Clayton, killed him in secret and calls it self-defense against a man given to satanic occult practices. Elwyn's hunchback assistant Zolarr suspects the doctor and confronts him. Lloyd tells his niece Gayle and her fiancé Dr. David Bentley that Elwyn had grown obsessed with mysticism and black magic since a trip to India. By night, Elwyn appears at Lloyd's house, says his brother pushed him off a cliff, and promises revenge: he will slowly kill Gayle and turn her into a vampire.
