Plot summary
Sparra Farrell keeps to himself and has started over in Melbourne in the mid-1970s. In his twenties, he has found honest work and is engaged to Paula, and the two of them are planning a future together. Pommie, fresh out of prison in Sydney, is charismatic and expects to pick up the partnership with Sparra where the two men left it. Paula is approaching marriage with a man whose background she does not know, and Pommie's arrival draws Sparra back toward the world he thought was behind him while his engagement and his own new life are under strain.
