Plot summary
Terry and Ian are brothers in South London whose father runs a restaurant and whose mother raised them to admire their uncle Howard, a plastic surgeon with clinics abroad. The two buy a cheap sailboat in near-perfect condition and name it after the greyhound that won Terry the money for it. Ian helps Angela Stark when her car breaks down, then begins dating the actress although she already has a lover. Terry's gambling habit buries him in debt, and Ian wants to put money into California hotels. The brothers turn to Howard for a loan. He agrees to help, on condition that they kill Martin Burns, whose testimony would put him in prison.
