Plot summary
Joe Logan, a mixed-blood Native American once known as Logan the Legend, wants to modernize his reservation's casino by expanding it onto the land of his ancestors. His father, the traditionalist Tribal Chairman, agrees to that request only on one condition: Joe must coach the reservation's struggling high school lacrosse team. The squad plays in the prep school league of Upstate New York, facing opponents who have better equipment and training. Joe reluctantly takes the job, and it asks for a kind of leadership he gave up years ago, when he was a star lacrosse player. The team he inherits is Haudenosaunee, made up of teenagers from the reservation.
