Plot summary
Doreena assists Dr. John Basso, a stage hypnotist who bills himself as a clairvoyant, at the Tanglewood Country Club and Resort. Under his hypnosis she returns to a past life as an amphibious humanoid, and Basso summons the creature from a nearby lake to carry out murders that he then predicts on stage for notoriety. Lieutenant Blake investigates, but the police have only a webbed footprint and a sketch drawn from a witness's glimpse of the creature. Air Force psychologist Captain Ted Dell meets Doreena at a party given by Sam Crane, the father of his fiancee Lynn. Fascinated by her, Ted vows to free her from Basso's hold on her mind.

Did you know?!Facts and trivia about Creature of Destruction (1968)
Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- Aron Kincaid appeared in Creature of Destruction as part of an out-of-court settlement with AIP, filmed two weeks to meet his contractual obligations and then left. Director Larry Buchanan, still needing three days of scenes, taped Kincaid's remaining dialogue in the back seat of the cab to the airport.
- Unable to afford Paul Blaisdell's iconic design for the original She Creature, Larry Buchanan had his Gill Monster costume made by Dallas makeup artist Jack Bennett from a slightly modified green rubber wetsuit and a cheap fanged, ping pong ball-eyed fish mask, later reused as a cave dinosaur in Buchanan's 1969 It's Alive!.
- Texas rockabilly singer Scotty McKay, who also played one of the creature's victims, performed three songs in the movie, among them Here Comes Batman, his tribute to the popular TV series.
