Plot summary
Alfred Dhumonttiey has been unlucky since he was a baby, and the pattern holds as an adult: he works as an architect, and the buildings he draws come down. Out of options, he goes to a canal to drown himself and runs into Agathe Bodard, a television presenter who has come there for the same reason. Neither goes through with it, and Agathe puts Alfred up at her house, since he has nowhere else to go. He joins a Parisian sports team, and his poor luck appears to pass to a television boss who is trying to make the Paris side lose.
