Plot summary
A pianist known around the world is told that her hearing is failing, a loss that will keep growing until she is deaf. The news arrives just as Abigail comes into her life. Fear of the silence ahead, and of all the sound she will no longer take in, is what stands between the two of them. The pianist has to decide whether to keep Abigail at a distance and let the fear close her off, or to let her in and meet the hearing loss with her.
