Plot summary
At his school's talent show, Zach Sobiech performs an acoustic cover while he keeps up treatment for osteosarcoma, and his best friend Sammy Brown helps him write songs. He asks classmate Amy Adamle to a picnic, but before they can go, a coughing fit sends him to the hospital. There surgeons repair a collapsed lung, and the family learns his cancer is terminal, with six to ten months left. Zach shares the news with Sammy and Amy. His teacher Milton Weaver inspires him as he weighs what to do with the time he has. That winter the Sobiechs travel to Lourdes, France, where Laura hopes for a miracle. Back home, Zach invites Amy to the prom.
