Plot summary
Fifty people come to in a darkened room, standing on platforms in two circles around a black dome. Stepping away or touching a neighbor sets off alarms, and a beam from the dome kills whoever leaves formation, the body whisked away. Every two minutes another captive dies. After several deaths, the group works out that hand gestures cast votes for who should be next, and that arrows on the floor reveal a person's own choice to no one else. A boycott fails and the device takes someone at random. To buy time, they agree to pick the elderly first. As they trade what they remember, Eric describes being lifted into the air in Los Angeles and waking in a red room with other people.

- Circle was shot in two weeks; every scene was storyboarded in advance, yet the directors still hit problems because all of the actors had to be available for every shoot.
- Producer and star Michael Nardelli said the psychological extremes the cast went through made it difficult for them to wind down after shooting ended.
