Plot summary
Emma Lockhart lost her mother two years ago, and she still feels the loss. She looks after her father, Jack, and she comes home from a research trip to spend the holidays with him. At home she finds out that Jack is dating Brandy Barnes, a woman who was her frenemy in high school. Emma is upset by the news. Brandy makes an effort to be pleasant with her, but Emma cannot accept the relationship and decides to break the pair up. Christmas is four days away.
