Plot summary
Elena Houghlin is an engineer and programmer for the entrepreneur Alexander Brok. She helped invent Calisto, an energy conservation device, and she has found that it can trigger fatal seizures when it is used. Her superior, Peter Fleming, is covering up that flaw, so she goes to the Townsend Agency with her findings. In Hamburg she meets the operative Edgar Bosley to hand them over, and Hodak, an assassin, ambushes the meeting. Edgar's protégé, Jane Kano, and her partner, Sabina Wilson, bring Elena to the operative Rebekah Bosley. Rebekah gives the three of them the job of entering Brok's headquarters to take the Calisto prototypes that are still there.
