Plot summary
The bank, the bookies and his daughter's school all want money from Elvis Martini, a landlord in Detroit whose building is close to foreclosure. Few of his tenants have paid their rent, so he presses them for what they owe. He raises the rent on Kush, who grows marijuana in his apartment, threatens to evict Rolexa, and keeps cameras hidden in the units to watch everyone. Leka cannot pay, and Elvis is seeing Leka's fiancee, Blerta, in secret. When Rolexa hides something in her apartment, Elvis has his friend Agroni change the lock and takes what he finds inside, which settles his debts for the moment and brings a far more dangerous creditor after him.

- The part of mob boss Dino was still uncast a week before principal photography on Cash Only began, until Stivi Paskoski auditioned from a cell phone. Director Malik Bader later cited holding out for the right actor as one of the lessons of the production.
- Cash Only was financed through the life savings of Nickola Shreli, its star, writer and producer, and Ele Bardha, the actor who played the loan shark Pete Cantor.
- Cash Only was shot in Detroit over just 13 days in winter 2013, and some scenes never made the theatrical cut because of the tight shooting schedule and editing concerns.
