Plot summary
Sam and Lydia are the veterinarians in the town where Sam grew up, and they are married. DeeDee Michaud, Sam's childhood best friend, comes back after thirteen years away, bringing her eleven-year-old son, Trooper. Sam tells Lydia that DeeDee was his first crush, and Lydia grows wary of the newcomer. Trooper and his mother settle in quickly, lending a hand to neighbors and making friends around town. DeeDee sets up a candle making business on the town square and holds weekly candle making parties for the women of the town, and the evenings turn her and Lydia into good friends.
