Plot summary
Sage Scott and her younger brother Desi spend their first summer at Camp Rock, where their bond is strained because Sage ended their band to attend a music school. Other campers include Cliff, a drummer, Rosie, a cellist, Callie, who dances, and the influencer Maddie with her backup dancers. The reunited Connect 3 of Shane, Nate, and Jason Gray need a new opening act, so they bring their manager Lark to camp to run a competition for the place. Connie Torres, the camp director, takes the campers' phones and warns that anyone caught with one is out of the contest. Sage runs into Fletch Robinson, a newcomer who arrives in a police car. In the first challenge, campers sing Connect 3's "Play My Music", and every act advances to the next round.
