Plot summary
At the Black Cat Cafe, a London coffee house, one lunchtime brings the staff and the customers together. A man who avoids commitment walks in high on dope and meets his ex-girlfriend, and the argument they have in front of everyone sets off a chain of disclosures. The couples at the nearby tables have been listening, and what comes out unsettles their own relationships. Among those in the cafe are a shy young woman on a blind date with a bore, and a boyfriend who guards his girlfriend closely.
