Plot summary
In May 2015, Gavin York, a wedding videographer who dropped out of film school, searches the basement of the house his in-laws have just bought and comes across a box of tapes marked Don't Watch. The tapes carry part of a 2004 documentary by two film students, Sophia and Feldman, who set out to test the local legend of Peeping Tom, said to be summoned by an hour of unblinking staring into the Ilchester Tunnel at midnight and to come closer with each blink. Gavin edits the footage on an outdated laptop, then hires a crew to follow him as he looks for the students and for proof that the story is real.

- The film's invented Peeping Tom legend spread so convincingly that author Shelly Davies Wygant put it in her book Haunted Ellicott City as an actual local legend. Director Erik Kristopher Myers then admitted he had created and seeded it online under a pseudonym, and she thought it was brilliant.
- Eduardo Sánchez was not in the script at all; producer Cork Okouchi convinced director Erik Kristopher Myers to telephone him, and Sánchez not only appeared but became a producer, helping focus the film down from three hours to 91 minutes.
