Plot summary
Bucky Larson lives in small-town Iowa with his protective parents, Jeremiah and Debbie, and works as a bagger at a supermarket. Losing the job, he takes it as a sign that something greater is waiting for him. A video he watches with friends reveals that his reserved parents were stars of adult films in the 1970s, and Bucky decides to follow them into the business. He leaves northern Iowa for Los Angeles, a virgin with no notion of how to become a porn star. There a diner waitress, Kathy McGee, helps him find a place to live, with an insensitive oaf named Gary. The reigning star, Dick Shadow, treats him as a laughing stock, while a fading director, Miles Deep, spots a niche he thinks he can sell.
