Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- The film's Thai prison scenes were likely inspired by a real case: former drug trafficker Sandra Gregory said the material probably drew on her own imprisonment, since author Helen Fielding knew her parents' next-door neighbors and would likely have heard the story through them.
- The fistfight between Daniel and Mark was left almost entirely unchoreographed; the actors were simply told to fight each other however they could, in a scene that was set at the Serpentine Gallery but actually shot at the Italian Gardens near Lancaster Gate.
