Plot summary
Successful in advertising and tireless with women, Marcus Graham holds out for a partner who meets his standards, right down to her feet. His friends Tyler and Gerard tell him those standards are too high. When his firm is acquired by the cosmetics mogul Lady Eloise, Marcus spends a night with her expecting a promotion. The job instead goes to Jacqueline Broyer, who takes charge of his department. At a celebration of the merger, Helen Strangé, an eccentric fashion figure, is presented as the company's new face, and Jacqueline brings Marcus together with Angela Lewis, a colleague, whom he fixes up with Gerard. Marcus tries to win Jacqueline over, and she keeps their involvement on her own terms.

Did you know?!Facts and trivia about Boomerang (1992)
Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- The song "Love Shoulda Brought You Home" grew out of a line of dialogue where Halle is furious with Eddie and says "love should've brought your ass home last night". L.A. called it a great song title, and the young singer who had sung the demo, Reggie, was kept on: that was Toni Braxton's debut.
- Boyz II Men's "End of the Road" went to number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and stayed there for thirteen weeks, breaking the previous record of eleven weeks set by Elvis Presley's version of "Hound Dog".
- An extra scene in which Jones takes off the chain-metal dress setting off the metal detectors and walks through them naked was shot at Newark Airport, but the filmmakers found it so shocking that it threw the rhythm of the picture off, so it survives only in the clip edited for the approved perfume commercial.
- The scene where Grier, Lawrence and Murphy hug in front of the Empire State Building was shot around one or two in the morning, when the lights go off anyway. Having them shut off on command would have cost $40,000 to $60,000, so Hudlin filmed the hug and reversed the footage in the edit.
- The role of Lady Eloise's butler went to Jonathan Hicks, a friend of the director's who replaced a sick actor at the last minute. Hicks was a reporter for The New York Times, not an actor, and took the part as a favor to Hudlin.
- Executives at Paramount Pictures were nervous about Robin Givens being cast in such a major role, as she was disliked by many in the general public at the time because of her past relationship with Mike Tyson.
