Plot summary
George Jung grows up in Weymouth, Massachusetts, the son of Fred and Ermine. When Fred files for bankruptcy, he tries to teach George that money counts for little. As a young man George heads west to Los Angeles with his friend Tuna. There a flight attendant named Barbara Buckley introduces the pair to Derek Foreal, a marijuana dealer, and the friends do well for themselves. Kevin Dulli, a college student visiting from Boston, describes the demand back east, so they begin buying marijuana directly from Mexico through the drug lord Santiago Sanchez. A conviction for smuggling sends George to a federal prison, where his cellmate Diego Delgado, who knows the Medellín cartel, proposes the cocaine business.
