Plot summary
In 1881, the reporter Newton Piles comes to the Montana town of Deliverance, which expects the first Transcontinental Railroad within a week. With the railroad arrives a vampiric Billy the Kid, a 357-year-old Transylvanian who slaughters townspeople and rounds up the children to force their parents into submission, while sparing Newton to report on the story. Rayne, a dhampir born over a century earlier in Romania, has hunted vampires for years and now turns toward Billy. She rides into Deliverance to look for the missing children and meets the sheriff and his deputies, who tell her to leave her guns holstered and send her to the mayor's house.
