Bloodlines: The Art and Life of Vincent Castiglia (2018) on Netflix

Plot summary

Blood is the material for Vincent Castiglia, and the human bodies in his pictures take various forms of decay. The documentary is built around his art and his life, and it looks into what drew him to that material. Among those interviewed are a comedian who commissioned a portrait in her own blood, musicians from heavy metal bands, a record executive and a man once held on death row in the West Memphis Three case. Some of the filming took place in Switzerland, in the studio and museum of the artist who designed the creature for the Alien films.
