Eames: The Architect & The Painter (2011) on Netflix

Plot summary

The Eames Office is the workshop where Charles and Ray Eames, husband and wife, spend roughly forty years making things. Their output begins with chairs and widens to take in buildings, photographs and films, and the record of those decades survives in large part as still pictures shot in the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s, alongside clips from the films themselves. People who worked alongside the couple, among them young designers swept into the office's schedule, sit for interviews, as do friends, colleagues and historians. Their accounts follow the couple's own story and set it against the times they lived through, with narration holding the two threads together.
