Plot summary
Joey Turks takes cars for a living in Los Angeles and wants enough money to leave the city. He goes to the home of Mort, a drug dealer who owes him cash, and is caught carrying off a television set. The set falls and breaks; Mort stabs him with a knife and drives him off. Wounded, Joey makes his way to a cemetery, where he comes across Mona, a singer whose past relationships have brought her near suicide. She brings him to her apartment, dresses the wound and asks him to remain.
