Plot summary
Randy Rousseau is seventeen, a high school senior in a small Baptist community in southern Mississippi, and a singer. His younger sister disappeared, and the loss tore his family apart; his father, Lance, is not around either. Randy looks after his mother, Claire, who is emotionally disturbed, and he is the friend his classmates rely on. None of them know about the struggle he carries over his faith and his sexuality.
