Plot summary
Kingston is the New Orleans neighborhood where Alicia West grew up, and she has returned to it wearing a police uniform. Its residents, including the storekeeper Mouse, keep their distance, and her partner Kevin Jennings rides the beat with her. West offers to cover a double shift so that Jennings can have a night off, riding instead with Deacon Brown, who drives to a derelict power station and leaves her in the car while he goes in to meet an informant. A gunshot brings her inside, and the camera on her vest records detectives Terry Malone and Smitty shooting three dealers. Smitty fires at her, and she escapes the building.
