Plot summary
Cameras stay with Kobe Bryant for a single day during the 2007-08 NBA season, built around a Lakers game against the San Antonio Spurs. Thirty cameras have access to Bryant's day, and he wears a microphone that picks up what he says on the floor, on the bench and in the locker room, where the crew also films the coach addressing the team at halftime. Broadcast audio and the sound of the Staples Center fill in the game itself. Bryant adds narration recorded while watching the footage, describing his strategy and what goes through his mind. The Lakers hold the top spot in the West and want to keep it.

- Kobe Bryant handed Spike Lee and 30 cameras complete access for a single day, and agreed to wear a microphone that picked up what he said on the floor, on the bench and in the dressing room. Lee's crew was let into the Lakers locker room as well.
- Bryant recorded the film's commentary on 2 February 2009, only hours after scoring 61 points against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden, then a single-game record for the arena. Spike Lee had wanted him to talk after a Garden game, but nobody expected a night like that.
