Plot summary
Jack is a failed toy designer who has always depended on his parents. On his 35th birthday they are killed in a freak accident, and ten months later he is on his own, struggling with the mortgage and the upkeep of the house. An estate agent, David, tries to convince him to sell it. At work, Jack sees his colleague Richard as competition, and after his own toy designs fail, his boss Ron fires him and takes him back at a lower wage instead of promoting him. Jack decides to sell the house, packs up his toys and, sadly, throws away Benny, the stuffed bear he has kept since childhood. Benny destroys Jack's other plush toys, and the two police officers Jack calls to investigate mock him. Jack also meets Dawn, a tech consultant.
