Plot summary
Alien nanochips are changing hands at a black market meeting, and they interfere with the Omnitrix that Ben Tennyson wears. One of the dealers is Elena, a childhood friend of Ben and Gwen, who wants their help: her father, the scientist Victor, has been abducted. The chips come to life and attack, and the dealers escape. Gwen and Kevin grow suspicious of Elena. At headquarters the group and Grandpa Max study a salvaged chip and find it joins organic and technological parts. Max says Victor was once his apprentice, discharged for stealing the first chips, and Elena is ordered to leave. Ben breaks ranks with Max to help her.
