Plot summary
In occupied France in 1940, prisoners of war are held before being sent on to Germany, where escape would be close to impossible. Among them is Danny Finnegan, a champion boxer. The Nazi commander holding him learns what Danny is and makes him fight for the entertainment of his company. The other prisoners watch the contests and see a use for them: the fights could give them cover for a breakout before the transfer.
