Plot summary
Chili Palmer has had enough of making movies, so he looks to the music business. When a friend who owned a small independent record label is gunned down, Chili offers to help the widow, Edie Athens, who runs the label. The company owes hip-hop producer Sin LaSalle $300,000. Chili takes an interest in Linda Moon, a club singer tied by contracts to producers Nick Carr and Raji, and sees her as the act that could pull the label out of debt. LaSalle wants his money and gives Chili a few days to raise it plus the interest, and members of the Russian mob threaten him over the label's affairs.
