Cesar Romero
Biography
Cesar Romero was an American actor, born in New York City, who spent almost 60 years working in film, radio, and television. He was routinely cast as a Latin lover, usually in supporting roles, from the 1930s into the 1950s, and he played Antonio Galvan in The Devil Is a Woman (1935) and a villain in The Thin Man (1934). Across six westerns released between 1939 and 1941 he was the Cisco Kid, and he took leads or key supporting parts in Wee Willie Winkie (1937), The Little Princess (1939), Frontier Marshal (1939), and Captain from Castile (1947), where he was Hernán Cortés. He appeared in Ocean's Eleven (1960), and during the 1970s he played A.J. Arno in a series of Walt Disney Productions films. On television he was the first actor to play the Joker, on Batman from 1966 to 1968, and he later took the role of Peter Stavros on Falcon Crest, from 1985 to 1987.
