Plot summary
Barbie tells her kindergarten class the story of Thumbelina, one of the Twillerbees, wingless fairies born from flowers whose magic helps plants grow. Thumbelina and her friends Janessa and Chrysella make wing gliders so they can watch the Twillerbud flowers until the new babies emerge. Construction vehicles remove part of the flowerbed; the three hide among the plants, which are potted and carried into a city apartment where a wealthy girl named Makena lives with her dog Poofles. Makena's parents plan to build a factory on the field. When Makena talks with her friend Violet on the phone, Thumbelina scolds her, and Makena, who competes with Violet, sees a Twillerbee as a way to outdo her.
