Plot summary
Josh and Max Carson are brothers who build gadgets, following in the footsteps of their late father, Matthew. Their aim is a robot with advanced artificial intelligence, mobile enough to move on its own, that can take over the household chores for their mother, Sarah. At a Halloween party, Josh uses a ouija board for a playful séance, and the ghost of Matthew inhabits the machine. The boys are overjoyed at having their father back, and they call the robot Newman.
