Plot summary
Amelia Summerland suffers an aneurysm that leaves her locked in, bedridden and slowly dying. Her husband Carter, a police officer, searches for a way to revive her. Wesley Enterprises approaches him with a program that copies a person's memories and personality into an android body. The company wants Amelia as a test subject. The procedure draws the couple into a public debate about people's relationship with technology and about Amelia's right to exist.
