Plot summary
As children, Rebecca and Tommy swear to love each other forever, until Rebecca leaves for Japan with her mother and the two are parted. Twelve years on, she comes back and finds that Tommy not only remembers her but still cares for her, and they begin a relationship. Tommy campaigns as a political activist against biotech corporations, which plan a natural park filled with animals made by cloning, and he intends to spoil the park's inauguration with rucksacks full of cockroaches. Rebecca writes sonar software that monitors underground storage tanks for leaks, and she insists on going with him. The pair drive toward the park through empty wilderness.
