Plot summary
Charlotte Bryce, seven, is taken from a park in Louisville, Kentucky. Her mother, Monica, records part of the abduction and calls 911. The call reaches Sergeant Phil Casey, who issues an AMBER Alert even though no plate number is known. Jacqueline "Jaq" Dana misses her taxi, so she talks Shane, an off-duty rideshare driver, into giving her a ride. The alert reaches their phones, and they spot a vehicle that matches the description. Jaq urges Shane to follow it, and at a gas station she notices a child in the back of the car.

- The film's premise grew out of a real-life experience in 2010, when director Kerry Bellessa and his wife got an AMBER Alert while driving from Los Angeles to Phoenix and talked about how they would respond if they came across the vehicle described in it.
- Kerry Bellessa first filmed the story in 2012 as a low-budget found-footage film made for roughly US$5,000; the 2024 remake, co-written with Joshua Oram, was their fully realized version with a professional cast and crew.
