Plot summary

Jack Spencer is a dejected author whose marriage and career have both gone wrong. He leaves his children with his brother-in-law and sets out with Amanda, his wife, for glamping, glamorous camping, at a retreat in a remote spot. He hopes the trip will bring back a spark. The two of them expect time on their own. A double booking means another party has reserved the same place, so the retreat turns out not to be the private getaway they wanted. Jack finds himself in comedic situations there, among them a friendship he strikes up with a miniature donkey, and tries to get over himself.
