Plot summary
Panicked after waking on a strange shore, Robyn runs to a small cabin by the sea and finds Seb enjoying himself with outgoing Patricia and Livvy. None of the three can say where they are; they work out that a nightclub roof caved in on them and that this is a kind of afterlife. Onie, quiet and shy, then appears as if from nowhere, perhaps still caught between life and death. The cabin, its rooms and two paintings on the walls give out clues, and the five argue over why they are all here. A lighthouse close by brings on terrifying visions and deafening noise, and any attempt to walk toward it puts them back at the hut.
