Beyond film
In 2010, Raison took the title part in Anne Boleyn, a new play written by Howard Brenton that opened at Shakespeare's Globe on 24 July 2010. That same season at the Globe, she was Anne Boleyn again in William Shakespeare's Henry VIII.
Big break
Raison's breakthrough came as Jo Portman in the BBC One drama Spooks, a part she held from 2005 to 2009; she asked the production company to let her go in 2009 because she felt the character could not develop further and she wanted to pursue theater work.
Behind the award
Since 2014, Raison has provided the voice of Cassandra Pentaghast in the Dragon Age series. In 2015, that work brought her a BTVA Video Game Voice Acting Award for Best Vocal Ensemble in a Video Game, plus a Best Lead Female Actor nomination.
Beyond film
Raison starred in Jez Butterworth's play The River at the Royal Court Theatre from October 2012 alongside Dominic West, and after rave reviews tickets became the most sought-after theater tickets in London.
