Plot summary
Pavel is the veterinarian at a horse stable and is in love with Katya, the eighteen-year-old daughter of its owner. He keeps looking for ways to catch her attention. Katya, a strange and extraordinary girl, finds a wounded man, Alexei, beside a road; he needs medical aid. Alexei comes to the farm, and his arrival disturbs the usual course of life of its inhabitants. Pavel's attempts to win Katya come up against the newcomer.
