Plot summary
Captain Grace Garland is a decorated U.S. veteran who has come home from Afghanistan, where she served two tours with a Search and Rescue unit. Her K9 partner is no longer with her, and Christmas has lost its hold on her. Two weeks before the holiday she is stranded in River's Crossing with no place to stay. Joe Peterson, the local judge, offers her room on his property and sets out to show her what the season holds: Christmas, family, community, and love.
