Plot summary
Diana Watts teaches English at a high school in suburban Texas. She is sleeping with one of her students, Eric Tull, and the two hide what is between them during class. Her brother, Hunter, brings up their mother's declining health, and Diana leaves, overwhelmed. Her roommate Sophia wants to set her up with two men, Rich and Dan, at a party. While Sophia talks, Diana steps into the bathroom to photograph herself without a top and send the picture to Eric. At the party she finds Rich and Dan dull and invents an excuse to leave early.
