A Map of the World (1999) on Netflix

Plot summary

The Goodwins have not lived long in the small Wisconsin dairy farming community where Alice works as a school nurse and she and her husband Howard are raising their two daughters, Emma and Claire. Most of the neighbors regard the family with suspicion. Alice and Howard do form a friendship with Theresa and Dan Collins, and the two families take turns looking after each other's children. One afternoon, with Alice briefly distracted, an accident on her property involves Theresa's daughter, who is in her care. Alice is grief stricken, and the neighbors who already mistrusted the family turn against her. She faces charges of child abuse.
