Plot summary
Bill and his son David work together at a sheet metal factory in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Bill and his wife Venida live on the same lot as their son David and his wife Tammy, so the four often share their mornings. At the office Bill notices something charged between David and Narcedalia, an employee, as the two men prepare for the company's weekly VFW outing. When Bill asks David about an affair, David does not deny it and tells him to stay out of it. Their daughter Patti turns up without warning, once again apart from her husband, and Venida is put off by Patti's sense of entitlement. Tammy, lonely, stays patient with Patti's daughter Hadley and keeps a warm friendship with Bill.
