Plot summary
Eric is in his thirties and lives to party, holding themed events for his old friends at his father's house in the Hamptons. After a July 3 bash, his father arrives and says he is selling the house, and the group returns the next weekend to find it listed with Dody and Kelly, the real estate agent Eric meets at the party. Eric and Mike decide on one final Labor Day weekend blowout, and Eric, lamenting the freer attitudes of a younger generation, proposes an orgy. The friends hesitate until Mike and Eric argue that they will soon be moving apart. Sue agrees, Laura joins to improve her self-esteem, and Alison comes in after breaking up with Marcus, while Eric courts Kelly to slow the sale.

Did you know?!Facts and trivia about A Good Old Fashioned Orgy (2011)
Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- Writers Alex Gregory and Peter Huyck based the film on a real story a fellow television writer told them about a party in the Hollywood Hills that spontaneously turned into an orgy, even though they were skeptical the story was entirely true.
- Before Jason Sudeikis was cast, the filmmakers initially set their sights on Vince Vaughn for the film; Vaughn ultimately did not appear in it but stayed on to help Gregory and Huyck rework the script.
- Co-writer Peter Huyck decided Jason Sudeikis should play lead character Eric after seeing him sing karaoke at a Saturday Night Live after-party, a leap of faith since Sudeikis was only an SNL writer at the time, not yet a proven leading man.
- One local business agreed to let the crew film there only on the condition that its actual name, Fred's Beds, appear on screen during the racy sex-club research scene.
- While the crew shot a graffiti scene with a hired art collective spray-painting a real building, police stormed the set, unaware a filming permit had actually been issued for the work.
