Plot summary
An account of John Cassavetes, who lived from 1929 to 1989, and of the films he made. An off-screen narrator speaks his words, and clips from his pictures, photographs and film of him on sets and away from them sit beside that narration. Family members, friends and colleagues describe his pictures and what working with him was like. The documentary turns to his focus on emotion, to his collaborative process, to how he drew out actors, and to the lasting impact of his work.
